Find out about the most versatile concealment t-shirt on the market today!

The Packing Tee represents the next generation of concealed carry t-shirt. It’s been built from the ground up to solve the issues that face the CCW licensee looking for a good way to carry their equipment.

One of the first things that you notice when you examine one, is that the holster is modular and attached with industrial strength hook and loop material (Velcro). Turn the shirt inside out, and you see the reinforcements that have been added to the shirt to make sure that your weapon stays where you want it.

There are reinforcements around the side of the shirt, over the shoulder and around the arm holes, and across the back. Basically, the manufacturer made a cloth shoulder holster, and then sewed it into the inside of the shirt.

The shirt itself is 100% cotton, pre-shrunk. This means that it’s not only comfortable and easy to clean, but it “looks normal”. There are a number of concealed carry t-shirts out there that have rather “distinctive” looks to them, looks that can give you away to people who know what to look for. Why on earth do you want to telegraph your advantage away like that?

One of the best features of this holster system is the modular holsters themselves… and not just because you can easily switch out between the various holsters to customize your carry to what you need to do -now-. The fact that it’s velcro’ed to the shirt gives you a lot of options in the adjustment department. You can move the holster up, down, sideways, or just give it a small cant forward or backward, whatever it takes to give you that “sweet spot” for carry comfort that makes all the difference in the world in whether or not a holster system “works” for you.

Lets do some Q&A on these shirts now….

[Q] Are there sleeved versions of these shirts, or all they all sleeveless?

[A] They are all sleeveless. If there were sleeves on the shirts, there would be a possibility of getting your weapon caught in the “dangling sleeve” during a draw, and that would not be a good thing for you.

[Q] Are there V-Neck versions available?

[A] At the current time, no. I don’t expect to see one either, because my understanding is that this can reduce the structural integrety a bit. However, I can’t say for certain that there never will be a V-Neck version, just that there currently is not one.

[Q] What colors are they available in?

[A] Black and white only.

[Q] Is there a weight limit on the gun carried?

[A] Older technology shirts had strict weight limits on the weapon to be carried. Because of the way these shirts are made, with the reinforcements on them, they can carry significantly more weight on them. As a practical matter, though, the heavier the gun (and the larger it is), the more difficult it becomes to hide the weapon for long periods of time. Let your ability to conceal the weapon be more of the determining factor than what the sheer ability of the shirt is to carry weight, because the shirts ability to carry weight is far in excess of any reasonable concealed carry weapon.

[Q] How do I clean these shirts?

[A] Remove the holster patches before washing, then just wash them as you would do your regular t-shirts. If you mistakenly forget to remove the patches, they will not be ruined, but they will curl up on the edges some. If the curling becomes too severe, remember you can get new ones for $5.00 each.

[Q] What is the life expectancy on these shirts?

[A] This is a piece of clothing, and underwear at that. Given that, it’s not going to last forever. The manufacturer has estimated that you should be able to get two years out of them under “normal use”.

[Q] Do I need to wear an over shirt with this?

[A] Only if you feel the need to conceal the weapon. Seriously, though, pretty much every method of concealment depends at least in part on “cover garments”… this one is no different.

[Q] Does the shirt need to be tight on me?

[A] Previous designs of shirts needed a good amount of “snug fit” to keep the weapon in the place where it’s supposed to be. Because of the reinforcement built into this shirt, it doesn’t need to be worn as tightly as other similar products, but you do not want to wear it loose, either. Wearing it loosely will cause the weapon to sag, hang lower than normal, and bounce off your ribcage in a most annoying manner, so wearing the shirt “snug” is still a good idea.

[Q] I normally wear a size (fill in the blank), what should I wear here?

[A] If you wear an XL, then get an XL sized Packin’ Tee. There is no need to “guesstimate down” the size with this shirt. These were built from the ground up as concealment shirts, and they were built knowing that they needed to be snug. So, if you normally wear, say, and XL for comfort, then pick up an XL here as well, and it will fit on you snugly.

[Q] I tend to wear two different sizes, depending on the cut. What should I wear here?

[A] If, for example, you wear both XL and 2X depending on the cut, then you should probably get a 2X shirt. Remember, these are built to be snug, and if you get a size too small, it’s – really- going to be a size too small!

[Q] Is this shirt hot to wear?

[A] Being in the midwest, I get this question a lot. The answer is “it’s no hotter than any other 100 percent cotton t-shirt”. If you can live with a t-shirt on, this will be no different to you.

[Q] Will my gun get rusty from my sweat?

[A] Well, I can’t answer to the rust resistance of your gun, but I can tell you this… one of the reinforcement layers that makes this shirt so suited for this job, is a thin layer of plastic that helps keeps any moisture from getting from you to your gun. Beyond that, if you tend to go swimming in salt-water, perhaps you should think about duracoating your gun.

[Q] How do I draw my weapon from this holster?

[A] The Packin’ Tee is a “cross draw” style holster, traditionally one of the easiest draw motions there is. If you have a button down shirt, just reach inside and grab the weapon. If you have a non-button down (pullover) type shirt, just grab the shirt bottom nearest the gun, and pull the shirt over the top of the weapon, then go ahead and grab your gun. If you see me at a gun show sometime, ask me to show you the “boost-assist” method of drawing the gun through the neckline of almost any shirt. I would explain it, but it’s far easier to show you than to try to tell you about it.

[Q] Do these shirts come in “big and tall” sizes?

[A] Yes and sort of. Yes, in that they currently come in 2x, 3x, and 4x shirts, with a 5x on the drawing board. There are no specific “tall” versions, but these shirts were made longer than most concealment shirts, and as a result, most people will find the length to be fine. The larger the shirt, the longer they are, so be sure to check them out, you will probably be pleasantly surprised.

[Q] Can I get one of these shirts configured to carry two guns?

[A] One of the really nice things about this design is that you can easily configure it to whatever you need to go. It comes standard with both left and right mountings. Possible setups include:

One gun, no other rigging ($45.00)

Two guns, no other rigging ($55.00)

One gun, plus magazine carrier ($50.00)

One gun, plus hidden pocket ($50.00)

Bear in mind that you can buy the equipment to run any and all of these options, but you can only run the above options at any given time. The mag carrier takes the place of the second gun, for example.

[Q] How many different holsters are there available for the Packin’ Tee?

[A] There are currently two, “large” and “small”. To make life easier for everyone involved, I’m selling these holsters as a set, so no matter what holster you need now (or later!), you will be set to go. To determine which one you need for your particular gun, just try them out and see which one fits better, but in case you want to take a shortcut, here’s a cheat sheet for you:

Information on the Concealment-T brand of T-Shirt Holster.

Want to buy the latest technology concealment t-shirt?

I have a lot of various holsters available at the gunshows, and over the past few years, I’ve had a chance to try out a lot of systems. The Concealment-T T-Shirt holster is one of the nicer ones that I’ve tried, and one of the few that I personally use on a regular basis.

At it’s heart, the Concealment-T T-shirt holster is exactly what it sounds like… a regular, normal, ordinary t-shirt that just happens to conceal a firearm. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s 14k at you:

Morgan in a Concealment-T T-Shirt

Remember that you can click on any of these images to see the full sized photo.

Before we go too much farther, let me explain that Morgan is wearing a womens size small t-shirt, the smallest one in the line. Other sizes are considerably longer, and the Men’s T-Shirts in particular have lower holsters, so don’t worry about having a gun in your armpit unless you are Morgan’s size or smaller.

A further clarification: The original images (the ones with a yard in the background) feature Morgan in a small women’s concealment-t. The “new” images (the ones with a gray wall background) feature Morgan in a “Medium Minus” Concealment-T t-shirt. It fits her more loosely than does the small sized, but still provides her with enough support for her firearms and ammo load. Morgan prefers the looser, more comfortable fit.

Lets answer a few common questions about the Concealment-T t-shirt holster:

*****

[Q] Are they all sleeveless as shown above, or are there sleeved versions?

[A] All existing ones that I’m aware of are sleeveless. The main reason, according to the manufacturer, is if a sleeved version were produced, it might be possible to have the sleeve interfere with the draw motion when you go to present the weapon… and that would be a very bad thing indeed. So, sleeveless is fine by me..

*****

[Q] What colors are they available in?

[A] Black and White only.

*****

[Q] Are there multiple holster types?

[A] Yes, there are two. Concealment-T calls them “large” and “small”, I tend to call them “Thick” and “thin”.

*****

[Q] What guns fit in a “Small” or “Thin” holster?

[A] In general, single column mag guns with rounded trigger guards and no real protrusions. Also, interestingly enough, J-Frame revolvers fit in the small/thin holster. 1911’s, Kahrs, some Kel-Tecs, and lots of others.

*****

[Q] What fits in the “Large” or “Thick” holster?

[A] Well, the short answer is “if it didn’t fit in a thin, here you go”… but that’s not quite right. In general, Single or Double column mag autos, including those with square trigger guards, but NOT including ANY revolver no matter what the size.

*****

[Q] I have a revolver that I would like to use that’s not a J-Frame, will it work?

[A] A Ruger SP101 or Colt Dectective Special can be used, but only with a small modification to the holster itself. Nothing larger (K-Frame, L-Frame, N-Frame, X-Frame or any equivalent) can be used. See me at a gun show, and I’ll explain the modification that needs to be made in order to produce an SP101 capable holster.

*****

[Q] Is there a weight limit on the gun?

[A] Yes, the gun and ammo cannot weight more than 41 ounces. When it comes to concealed carry weapons, though, that’s a whole lot of gun. I’ve tested this with a fully loaded Smith M&P MP40 full sized pistol without any trouble, and I’ve also tried it with a fully loaded Glock 35 (tricked out with all sorts of stuff, including tru-glow night sights), and had no trouble hiding either. At gun shows, I’ve fitted guns up to and including a HK USP .45 pistol successfully. When in doubt, bring your gun with you to the gun show, and lets give it a fit!

*****

[Q] Will this wear out eventually?

[A] This is a piece of clothing, and eventually, it will wear out. When, I can’t tell you, but I can tell you that I’ve used the same shirt for over a year and a half now without any significant wear on it, and I’m using it at a minimum twice a week (at the shows), plus occasionally in my real life. In fact, I was wearing it today with my Para-Ord when I had some errands to do, so this one shirt, with a years use and 75+ washings on it, is still working fine for me.

Just an update on this… according to the manufacturer, you should be able to get two years of use out of each shirt. I can confirm 22 months personally, and I stopped using that shirt simply because I had lost weight and the shirt didn’t fit me properly anymore. In fact, I have passed that shirt on to another person to use and they are quite happy with it. These shirts are build pretty darn tough.

*****

[Q] Do I have to wear an overshirt with this?

[A] Only if you want to hide the gun. (yes, I get this question). Seriously, you don’t need a really baggy shirt, just don’t go for skintight. A regular comfortable fit will usually work just fine, unless you are hauling a particularly hard to hide weapon, and then, your milage may vary. Always consult a mirror and a trusted friend to make sure that you have a good drape on the weapon before exposing yourself to unfriendly scrutiny.

*****

[Q] Does the shirt need to be tight on me?

[A] Some degree of snugness is desirable, not only because it helps to keep the gun where you want it at, but it also helps when you go to draw the weapon. You don’t need “I can’t breath” tightness, but you certainly don’t want to have the shirt loose on you, because if the shirt is loose, the gun is loose, and you will NOT like that feeling, trust me on this. If the gun is constantly shifting position, it will quickly drive you nuts. When it stays in it’s proper place, this holster is a dream… but wearing one too big will soon turn your dream into a serious annoyance.

*****

[Q] Why is this holster so comfortable to wear?

[A] Well, keeping in mind the “get the right size” rule, this is very comfortable to wear for one big reason… it stores a gun on a portion of your body that just doesn’t bend. Think about it… when was the last time you bent your ribcage when moving? Unless you are a contortionist (and even then, I have my doubts), you never have. That part of your body just doesn’t move around. Everything -around- it moves around.. but it doesn’t. Planting a gun here insures that said gun never has to find it’s way into a soft and tender part of your body at an inopportune time.

*****

[Q] How easy is this holster for others to spot?

[A] It’s amazingly difficult. Most people can tell you are carrying a weapon because either you are wearing something that gives away that you are carrying (say, unseasonable clothing), or because you bend over or move in such a way as to expose the weapon (very common with waist-based systems, shirts LOVE to ride up), or because the wind just didn’t want to help you keep your secret. The Concealment-T T-shirt holster looks just like any other run-of-the mill t-shirt (avoiding the look of “shoot me first” clothing), you can’t bend in such a way as to reveal the gun (because the gun is at a non-bending spot), and assuming you aren’t wearing a completely unbuttoned over shirt, the wind shouldn’t be able to expose you.

*****

[Q] Is this shirt hot to wear?

[A] It’s no better or worse than any other 100 percent cotton pre-shrunk t-shirt. If you wear a t-shirt normally, this will already be second nature. If you aren’t in that habit (and I wasn’t), then the t-shirt will be a bit warmer than being t-shirtless, but it’s really not that bad overall. My personal experience is that it is tight enough to act as a “wick” and pulls sweat away from the body, actually acting as a bit of a cooler and regulator.

*****

[Q] I have a friend that tried a T-Shirt Holster and didn’t like it…

[A] If he/she had a Concealment T-Shirt, it could have been that they got the wrong size, that’s the most common issue with most people. Getting the right size makes all the difference in the world. If it wasn’t a Concealment-T t-shirt, then don’t apply their experience to this product, please. There are other manufacturers making a similar product, but with different materials, such as mesh, or a thick “compression” material, and they have radically different handling characteristic’s compared to the Concealment-T T-shirt holster.

*****

[Q] The photos show a holster on the left hand side, can I get one on the right hand side?

[A] All Concealment-T T-shirts are “cross draw” style holsters. A right handed persons gun will be on the left hand side, a left handed person’s gun will be on the right hand side. Both styles are usually kept in stock. Note that this holster was NOT designed to be drawn “same side”, only crossdraw, and in fact, even if you are flexible enough to pull it off, I don’t recommend it because it will make it far harder to hide the weapon (the buttstock is facing the wrong way).

*****

[Q] Can I get a Concealment-T T-shirt with two gun holsters (left and right hand), or one gun holster and 1-2 magazine pouches on the other side?

[A] Yes, Concealment-T does make such shirts, but we do not stock them, and it would be a special order type of item. Please talk to me at a show for more details.
